So, I wanted to write a vampire novel. Sounds simple enough, right? For some people, maybe, but not for me. I wanted something . . . new; something [with] meaning beyond just another throwaway tale of fangs and stakes.
Like most of us, I [believed] that Bela Lugosi’s Count Dracula represented the original vampire of myth and legend. It was only later as I read more novels, more folklore . . . that I discovered how wrong we all were!
I grew up loving vampires in film and fiction. How grand it was to face the most powerful, fearsome creatures in history from the safety of my chair. They outwitted their enemies . . . They got the girl.
. . . when I was in high school I . . . picked up a copy of “The Vampire Lestat” and immediately fell in love with her characters, New Orleans, and the entire ambiance of the vampire world she so brilliantly portrayed.
Would I have ever thought that I would write a book? No way! Not me! That’s what I used to think until I found the darkness…or maybe it found me? . . . Who am I? My name is Gabriel Adams and I write vampire stories.
